I started in lead generation, moved into administration. Then, in 2025, I taught myself to code. Now I build the systems the company runs on.

Self-taught, I automated my own admin role out of existence in the same year I started programming. I spent every waking moment learning, building and refining until I developed the system the company now runs on. Backed by the business, the Job Adding System (JAS) became the culmination of that work: a platform spanning the company’s operations and integrations. My title is DevOps Engineer, but the work has since grown well beyond DevOps⁠—into integration engineering, platform engineering and the design of systems that connect the business end to end.

About

Sales floor to server room

I started in door-to-door solar sales, moved into operations, and taught myself to code in 2025⁠—automating my own admin role within months before building the system that now runs much of the back office. Today, I’m the company’s DevOps Engineer, owning its Azure estate end to end across infrastructure as code, CI/CD and zero-trust security, while building and maintaining its core internal products. Alongside this, I’m completing a Graduate Certificate in Computing at Charles Sturt University, focused on cybersecurity and systems design, with a High Distinction average on the pathway to a Master of Information Technology.

A signed solar proposal goes in; a fully provisioned job comes out across every core company platform⁠—document libraries, job workbooks, CRM, customer portal, work boards, field service, accounting and more⁠—while scheduled jobs and automations carry it through crew scheduling, compliance certificates, STC lodgement, invoicing, receipts and close-out with virtually no manual handling. The result: 4,500+ staff hours reclaimed, administrative duplication removed, and the equivalent workload of 3–4 full-time roles eliminated⁠—real operational value from a system the entire business now runs on.

RenewCompare

Energy-analysis tool for the sales team

Built an energy intelligence platform that analyses electricity and gas bills, compares them against the Australian energy market, and forecasts wholesale prices⁠—including VPP modelling, government Solar Sharer schemes, and more. Its Amber Electric VPP model achieved accuracy within $42 per year of real-world costs, supported by a custom forecasting engine and a high-performance optimiser written in Rust.

Solar installation company

Own the Azure estate end to end⁠—provisioned with Terraform and Bicep, shipped through GitHub Actions⁠—and run identity and endpoint security as code: Entra ID, Intune, LAPS, Essential Eight. Built the Job Adding System that runs the back office, 55 automations across 16 platforms, and RenewCompare, the company's internal energy-analysis tool. Documented both for handover.
